With the Ford factory team of Bud Moore/ Kar-Kraft ending their participation after the 1972 season of Trans-Am, the lack of big bore muscle cars, and with an imminent energy crisis, all plans for any major production-based factory racing series died out almost instantly. However, if there was a 1973 season with factory involvement, this Mustang would've probably been used. Replicating the actual would-be car (then-new Mach-1), and it was one of two cars stillborn inside the shutdown Kar-Kraft shop. How well it would've gone, no one knows, but guess that's wishful thinking.
